World Japanese Spitz Day (WJSD) is a holiday which was established in Ukraine on the 10th of March 2019 by Yuliya Strizhkina during a Japanese Spitz monobreed dog show "Cup of The Rising Sun". It is celebrated every 1st Sunday of March.

A bit of history

2019 - this year, the idea of the holiday was born & announced.

2020-2021 - the idea was hatched and prepared for implementation. A logo for World Japanese Spitz Day was created.

World Japanese Spitz Day 2022 - the first officially planned celebration was cancelled because of a full-scale war in Ukraine.

World Japanese Spitz 2023 - the Japanese team comes up with a holiday accessory - a bandana with a WJSD logo.

World Japanese Spitz Day 2024 - Ukraine joined the idea of using holiday bandanas with a WJSD logo.

World Japanese Spitz Day 2025 - official representatives of the holiday in Brazil, Canada, the Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Lithuania, Northern Ireland, Poland, Slovenia, Sweden & Switzerland joined the holiday team. Japanese Spitz sticker pack for social media was created & became available for anyone.

World Japanese Spitz Day 2026 - Ukrainian team created a new sticker pack for Telegram, Viber & WhatsApp named Japanese Spitz and a colouring book Simba's Adventures in France devoted to World Japanese Spitz Day.
